Two for Hoang

Level 31 : 100,000/200,000, 0 ante
Kate Hoang
Kate Hoang

Two big pots for Kate Hoang soared her up the leaderboard and she's nearing Julien Martini. In the first hand, Mack Lee raised the button, Kate Hoang made it three bets, Julien Martini cold-called and Lee called as well.

The {8-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}{3-Hearts} flop got checked. Hoang bet the {Q-Hearts} turn and Martini called, but Hoang took it with an uncalled bet on the {J-Diamonds} river.

Another pot with three bets in saw Martini betting the {6-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}{2-Clubs} flop and {A-Clubs} turn, with Hoang calling every step. Martini check-called a bet from Hoang on the {A-Spades} river. Hoang tabled {5-Spades}{4-Clubs}{Q-Spades}{2-Spades} for queen-deuce for high and five-four for low and scooped the pot.

Mack Lee raised on the button and Julien Martini called in the big blind. The {K-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{6-Spades} flop went check, check and the {7-Clubs} turn brought a check by Martini and a bet by Lee, Martini called. On the {A-Clubs} river, Martini check-called all in for 65,000 and showed {Q-Clubs}{8-Clubs}{7-Hearts}{5-Diamonds} for a low. Lee had {A-Hearts}{K-Spades}{9-Spades}{4-Hearts} for two pair, aces and kings, and no low, to chop it up.

The next hand, Kate Hoang raised on the button and Lee called in the big blind. Lee bet the {9-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}{3-Clubs} flop and Hoang called. After the {2-Spades} turn, Lee moved all in for 190,000 and Hoang called.

Mack Lee raised on the button and Martini defended the big blind. On the {K-Clubs}{Q-Spades}{8-Clubs} flop, Martini checked and called the shove of Lee for 75,000.

Mack Lee: {A-Clubs}{Q-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{2-Hearts}
Julien Martini: {7-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}{4-Hearts}{3-Clubs}

The {8-Hearts} turn and {9-Hearts} river let Lee double.

Lee then chopped with Hoang after getting it in on a {8-Spades}{4-Spades}{2-Hearts} flop. Lee showed {A-Spades}{8-Clubs}{5-Spades}{2-Clubs} and Hoang had the {5-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}{3-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}. In the first hand of the day, Kate Hoang raised and Julien Martini called in the small blind. Mack Lee folded in the big blind and the duo headed to the {J-Spades}{10-Diamonds}{2-Hearts} flop. Hoang bet out of turn, but Martini eventually checked and folded to the bet after that.

The next hand saw a raise by Lee in the small blind and Hoang called in the big blind. They got it in after the {10-Clubs}{3-Clubs}{2-Diamonds} flop and the cards were turned over.

Mack Lee: {A-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{6-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}
Kate Hoang: {K-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{8-Hearts}{2-Spades}

The {7-Spades} turn and {6-Diamonds} river ensured a split pot, as the set of Lee for the high pot was no good, Hoang had rivered the straight to avoid being scooped.
