Rise and Shine for Event #36: $1,000 Super Seniors No-Limit Hold'em
Day 1 of Event #36: $1,000 Super Seniors No-Limit Hold'em is slated to begin today at 10 a.m. local time. This tournament has an age requirement of at least 60 and is sure to attract a field of finely aged poker talent.
The tournament has a scheduled three days of play. One person that knows all too well about it is reigning champ James Moore, who was part of a field of 1,476 runners last year and by the end of the tournament, he had all the chips. He pocketed a cool $259,230, a coveted World Series of Poker bracelet, and was crowned champion of the Super Seniors.
He did not have an easy trip to the end as there were many great players along the way to overcome including T.J. Cloutier, James Woods, David Sklansky, and Charles Barker who he beat heads-up to seal the win. And Moore isn't just last year's Champion. He also came into the 2017 edition of the Super Seniors event as the reigning Champion, having won hos first WSOP bracelet in the 2016 edition of this same event.
The players will have a 5,000 starting stack and the blind levels will begin at 25/50. There will be ten 60-minute levels play on Day 1, all remaining will move on to the second day.
There will be at 20-minute break every two blind levels and a 75-minute dinner break after the sixth level of play. There will be a late registration period until the beginning of level nine for any players wanting to jump in later on in the tournament.
