Big Stack Battles

Level 22 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante

David Benefield opened for 25,000 from early position and Jamie Armstrong called from the button. Barry Hutter came along from the big blind and three players saw a flop of {4-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}. Hutter checked, as did Benefield, and Armstrong bet 35,000. Both his opponents called and then check-called a bet of 60,000 from Armstrong on the {Q-Spades} turn.

When the {J-Spades} completed the board on the river, Hutter and Benefield both checked for a third time and Armstrong bet 150,000. Hutter folded but Benefield called with the {a-Clubs}{a-Diamonds}. It was good as Armstrong held the {k-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}. Had the hand played out differently it could have been a monster.
