Sklar Busts, Ivey Wins

Phil Ivey busted on Day 1, but broke even thanks to Richard Sklar
Phil Ivey busted on Day 1, but broke even thanks to Richard Sklar

Andrew Brown raised in early position, Richard Sklar called all in for 4,500 in middle position, and Ofir Mor called out of the small blind. Brown and Mor both checked on the flop ({q-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}) and the turn ({10-Clubs}), and the river was the {6-Spades}. Mor tossed out a bet, and Brown folded.

"Tens-up and ace-three," Mor announced, fanning {a-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}{6-Clubs}{3-Clubs}.

Sklar revealed {a-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}, then exited the tournament area.

Sklar also had a 3-1 bet on $10,000 in a last longer versus Phil Ivey, but in order for the bet to count, either player had to make the final table. Because Ivey busted before Sklar, Sklar was freerolling the nine-time bracelet winner. In the end, though, Ivey didn't have to fork over $30,000 because Sklar fell short of the final table.
