Devonshire Down to One Chip

Level 12

Stud

Bryan Devonshire reraised showing a six, and his opponent, with a jack, called. Devonshire continued firing until sixth street, when he had an uncoordinated {6-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}{5-Spades} board against his opponent's {j-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{9-Hearts}. His opponent bet, and Devonshire called. The action went the same on seventh street.

Opponent: {q-}{9-}{4-}

Devonshire's opponent's nines and fours were good, and Devonshire was left with a mere gray T100 chip.

Stud

Calvin Anderson: {K-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds} / {K-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}{A-Hearts} / {5-Hearts}
Richard Ashby: {5-Diamonds}{7-Clubs} / {5-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds} / {x-}

Richard Ashby opened with a raise and Calvin Anderson three-bet enough to put Ashby all in. He called and the boards ran out. Ashby was unable to best Anderson's pair of kings and mucked after looking at his last card. Anderson scooped up the pot and now has about 64,000 in chips.

Brunson Crippled

Level 12

Stud Eight or Better

We're down to under 100 players, and Todd Brunson is threatening to join the ranks of the departed. In a recent hand, he seemed displeased as called a bet after all the cards were out, and it was for good reason. His opponent showed tens and fours for two pair, and Brunson showed that his first five were {q-Hearts}{9-Hearts}{j-Hearts}{3-Hearts}{j-}. Unfortunately for him, the dealer had tossed him an {8-Diamonds} brick for seventh street, and Brunson has less than two big bets now.

Small Hit to Malm

Level 12

Stud Eight or Better

Michael Malm: {x-}{x-} / {Q-Hearts}{3-Clubs}{4-Clubs}
Opponent: {x-}{x-} / {10-Spades}{10-Clubs}{7-Spades}

Picking up with the action on fifth street, Michael Malm's opponent bet into him and Malm called. His opponent pulled a {9-Diamonds} on sixth and Malm drew the {A-Hearts}. The action went check-check.

Malm's opponent checked once again on seventh and Malm went into the tank, grabbed enough chips to bet, but then opted to check instead.

"Two pair is good," said Malm.

His opponent rolled over {J-Hearts}{j-Clubs}{9-Diamonds} for indeed two pair and was able to pick up the pot. Malm is now down to about 62,000 in chips.

Soulier Nearly Down to Felt

Level 12

2-7 Triple Draw

Just before the level change, we found three players involved in a massive triple draw pot. The small blind fired out a bet after the first draw, a player in middle position called, and Fabrice Soulier called on the button.

The small blind stood pat, his opponents drew one. The small blind again led out, the middle position player called off his last 1,675, and Soulier called.

The small stayed pat, and the other two players again drew a final card. The small blind fired the last bet, and Soulier folded. The player in the small blind showed an eight-six-five to take the pot, eliminating the middle-position player and leaving Soulier with a mere four big bets.

Seiver and Mizrachi Make Number Three

Level 11
Scott Seiver
Scott Seiver

2-7 Triple Draw

Robert Mizrachi opened with a raise and Scott Seiver called out of the small blind. The player in the big blind three-bet the action and Mizrachi came back with a four-bet. Seiver called and the big blind called for all of her chips.

Mizrachi drew one, Seiver two, and the big blind three.

Seiver checked and Mizrachi continued. Seiver came back with a raise and Mizrachi made it three bets. Seiver four-bet and Mizrachi called. Both stood pat while the big blind took two.

There was a bet and raise again and the two stood pat once more. The big blind took two again. Seiver bet and Mizrachi called one more bet.

"I have number three," said Seiver fanning {7-}{6-}{5-}{3-}{2-}. Mizrachi fanned the same hand and the two chopped it up.

"I have a ten," shrugged the big blind as she gathered her belongings and left the tournament area.

Reslock Climbing

Level 11

2-7 Triple Draw

Chris Reslock, who recently won his record seventh World Series of Poker Circuit ring, is on fire here in Event #8.

Action folded around to Chris Reslock who raised it up. David Williams three-bet from two seats down and it came back to Resolock who called.

Reslock drew one and Williams opted to take two. Reslock fired out and Williams called. On the second draw, Reslock stood pat while Williams once again drew two. Reslock fired once more and Williams let it go. Reslock was awarded the pot and now has about 40,000 in chips while Williams has fallen to around 48,000.
