Kovalchuk KO's Blain

Level 15 : 2,000/4,000, 0 ante

Mikhail Semin raised to 8,000 in early position, Alexey Rybin called on his direct left, and Oleksii Kovalchuk three-bet to 35,000. Dermot Blain moved all in for 111,000, and the action folded back to Kovalchuk, who called.

"You have aces too?" the Irishman asked the Ukranian.

Kovalchuk shook his head, showing {10-Clubs}{8-Hearts}{7-Hearts}{6-Clubs}, and Blain tabled {a-Clubs}{a-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}. The flop fell {k-Hearts}{7-Clubs}{q-Spades}, changing very little but both the turn ({10-Diamonds}) and the river ({10-Hearts}) were both tens, giving Kovalchuk trips. Blain hit the rail, while Kovalchuk, who is searching for his third WSOP bracelet in as many years, is up to 400,000 chips.
