Helppi Wins One, Then Losses One

Level 21 : 5,000/10,000, 0 ante

Not long after Juha Helppi doubled through Thompson, he got right back into the action in a pot against Maria Ho. We caught up with the action on the turn, with the board showing {9-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{9-Hearts}{10-Hearts}. Ho check called a bet from Helppi, and when the {j-Spades} came on the river, Ho fired out. Helppi thought for just a few moments before he announced raise, and committed almost all of his chips into the middle. Ho tanked for a bit before folding, and Helppi collected the pot.

On the very next hand, Helppi raised it up, and Danny Le three bet it. The flop came {7-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{4-Hearts}, and Helppi check called a bet from Le. The turn was the {8-Diamonds}, and both players checked. The {q-Spades} hit the river, and Helppi bet out. Le called, and Helppi confidently showed {q-Hearts}{10-Spades} for top pair on the river. It was no good though, ans Le had {a-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds} for a better kicker.
