Jack Ward - 8th Place
Jack Ward - 8th Place

Hand #44: Kenneth Lind opened for 115,000, and Jack Ernest Ward moved all in over the top for his last 670,000. With the chip lead and {10-Hearts}{10-Diamonds} in the hole, Lind stood and announced a call, and he was delighted to find his hand was crushing Ward's {3-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}.

The board ran out {7-Diamonds}{q-Spades}{9-Clubs}{2-Clubs}{7-Clubs}, and with his pair of tens Lind knocked Ward out in 8th place.

Hands 38-43: Seniors Sparring

Level 27 : 25,000/50,000, 5,000 ante

Hand #38: Spain opened to 150,000, but his hand went into the muck when Holley three-bet shoved for his last 800,000.

Hand #39: Lind went for a walk in the big blind.

Hand #40: Miller open-shoved from the button, risking his last 355,000, and he was rewarded with the blinds and antes.

Hand #41: Bouskila limped in from the small blind, Spain checked his option in the big blind, and the flop fell {q-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}{9-Spades}. The textured board prompted Bouskila to check, and he quickly folded to Spain's 150,000 wager.

Hand #42: Ott opened for 150,000 from middle position, Spain called from the small blind, and the two players saw a flop of {8-Spades}{2-Clubs}{j-Clubs} hit the board. Spain led out for 175,000, but snap-folded when Ott raised it up to 500,000 even.

Hand #43: Holley raised to 110,000 from under the gun, and Spain called that bet from the button. Both players were forced to fold, however, when Bashist moved all in over the top for 1.2 million.

Hand #37:

Ken Lind raised to 105,000 from early position and Randy Spain made it 305,000 from the hijack. Lind called and we saw the {5-Clubs}{10-Clubs}{6-Spades} flop. Both players checked and the {10-Diamonds} turn came. Lind checked and Spain bet 200,000.

Lind took a bit a time and announced "all in" and Spain insta-called with {10-Hearts}{10-Spades} for quads. Lind had {a-Clubs}{8-Clubs}. The {k-Spades} river was irrelevant and Spain doubled up.

Hand #34: Dana Ott called the big blind from early position. Bouskila called from the button. Spain made it 340,000 and Ott and Bouskila folded.

Hand #35: Lind called the big blind from the hijack. Bouskila made it 105,000 from the cutoff and Bashist reraised to 540,000 from the big blind. Lind and Bouskila both folded and Bashist showed {q-}{q-}.

Hand #36: Spain raised to 105,000 and everyone folded.

Hand #29:

Ken Lind opened the pot from early position and made it 105,000. Jack Ward called from the hijack as did Fernando Halac from the big blind.

Fernando checked the {q-Hearts}{k-Hearts}{4-Diamonds} flop and Lind made it 335,000. Ward folded over to Halac who moved all in. Lind thought for a while and made the call with {q-Clubs}{10-Clubs}. Halac had {8-Hearts}{5-Hearts} for a flush draw.

The {10-Spades}{10-Diamonds} turn and river made Lind a boat, eliminating Halac in 9th place.

Hand 28: Michel Bouskila Doubles Through Barry Bashist

Level 26 : 20,000/40,000, 5,000 ante
Michel Bouskila Doubled Through With Big Slick
Michel Bouskila Doubled Through With Big Slick

Hand #28: With his chip lead growing, Kenneth Lind opened to 135,000 trying to collect another uncontested pot, but Michel Bouskila reraised all in for his last 750,000 instead. Next to act, Barry Bashist quickly announced a call, and Lind was now forced to consider the situation carefully. He stood to examine Bashist's stack, which had about 1.2 million behind after the call. Eventually, Lind tossed his {K-Clubs}{Q-Clubs} face up on the table, and the remaining players tabled their holdings.

Showdown:

Bashist: {A-Clubs}{J-Diamonds}
Bouskila: {A-Diamonds}{K-Spades}

Bouskila had Bashist dominated, and the final board of {4-Spades}{9-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}{k-Hearts} kept him out in front. The double up kept him in contention for a gold bracelet in this Seniors Championship, while Bashist lost almost half of his stack with the loss.

Hand #21: Spain raised to 90,000, but mucked quickly when Holley reraised all in for roughly 600,000 more.

Hand #22: Ott opened for 100,000 from the cutoff, and after Lind called from the big blind the flop fell {4-Clubs}{7-Spades}{10-Diamonds}. With the chip lead, Ken checked-raised Ott's bet of 250,000 by shoving all in. Ott couldn't stand the heat, and his hand was slid toward the muck.

Hand #23: Halac's open to 80,000 from the cutoff earned him the blinds and antes.

Hand #24: Holley made it 105,000 to play from early position, and next to act Ott made the call. On the {q-Hearts}{8-Clubs}{j-Spades} flop, Ott called Holley's c-bet of 130,000, but he folded to a shove on the {6-Clubs} turn.

Hand #25: Bouskila open-shoved for 650,000 after action folded around to him on the button, and the massive overbet folded the blinds.

Hand #14: Action folded to Lind, in the small blind, who raised to 95,000. Michel Bouskila moved all in from the big and Lind released his hand.

Hand #15: James Miller raised to 135,000 from the cutoff. Lind made it 335,000 from the button and Miller called. Miller check-folded {8-Hearts}{8-Diamonds} to Lind's all in bet on the {6-Clubs}{k-Clubs}{3-Clubs} flop.

Hand #16: John Holley opened from early position to 95,000 and got a call from Fernando Halac in middle position. Both players check the {q-Hearts}{5-Clubs}{k-Clubs} flop. Holley led for 105,000 on the {4-Hearts} turn. Halac moved all in and Holley folded.

Hands 5-12: Dipping Their Toes In

Level 26 : 20,000/40,000, 5,000 ante

Hand #5: Barry Bashist opened for a large raise of more than 6 times the big blind, and his 200,000 wager took down the blinds and antes.

Hand #6: John Holley raised to 70,000 from middle position, and Randolph Spain called to see a flop of {9-Clubs}{j-Clubs}{7-Hearts} hit the table. Spain then checked to Holley, who fired out a bet of 80,000. Springing his trap, Spain reraised to 230,000, and his power play pushed Holley's hand into the muck.

Hand #7: Dana Ott opened for 80,000 in middle position, winning the blinds and antes.

Hand #8: Bashist received a walk in the big blind.

Hand #9: Fernando Halac opened for 130,000 from early position, and the table folded around.

Hand #10: Bashist raised his button to 120,000 after the action folded around to him, and he won the blinds and antes.

Hand #11: James Miller opened for 80,000, and once again a single raise claimed the blinds and antes.

Hand #12: Michel Bouskila opened for 90,000, and Miller called to see a flop of {7-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}{10-Spades} arrive on board. Miller then check-called a bet of 85,000, and the players checked down on the turn ({6-Diamonds}) and river ({3-Spades}). James opened up {J-Clubs}{10-Diamonds} for middle pair, which had Bouskila's {9-Clubs}{10-Clubs} outkicked.
