Nguyen Doubles Through Paur

Level 26 : 20,000/40,000, 5,000 ante

Hand #113: From the button Tai Nguyen shoved all in for exactly 400,000. Taylor Paur reshoved all in from the small blind and Roy Weiss folded. Paur showed his {A-Hearts}{J-Clubs} and was unpleasantly surprised he wasn't in front it looked like. Instead he had a flip against Nguyen's {9-Diamonds}{9-Spades}. The board wouldn't help Paur and Nguyen doubled: {10-Diamonds}{5-Spades}{2-Spades} | {6-Spades} | {Q-Hearts}.

Alex Barlow Eliminated in 4th Place ($106,027)

Level 25 : 15,000/30,000, 5,000 ante
Alexander Barlow
Alexander Barlow

Hand #104: Alex Barlow still had a straight face but inside he must have been pretty happy with the kings versus aces hand which guaranteed him a $28,000 pay jump. The next hand it was time to get his 115,000 in though.

He got a call from Taylor Paur in the small blind and Roy Weiss in the big blind. Paur and Weiss checked the hand on the flop and turn: {K-Spades}{7-Clubs}{3-Hearts} | {3-Spades}. The dealer put the {A-Hearts} on the table and Paur bet out 60,000. Weiss folded and Paur showed his {A-Spades}{8-Diamonds} for a rivered top pair. Barlow mucked his cards but the dealer tabled them anyway because it was an all in and a call situation. Barlow was rivered with his {K-Diamonds}{9-Spades} and had to leave the tournament.

DJ MacKinnon Eliminated in 5th Place ($77,491)

Level 25 : 15,000/30,000, 5,000 ante
DJ MacKinnon
DJ MacKinnon

Hand #102: Taylor Paur made it 60,000 under-the-gun and everybody folded.

Hand #103: DJ MacKinnon opened the button for 65,000 and from the small blind Taylor Paur raised it up to 140,000. As Weiss folded, MacKinnon took a glance at Barlow's short stack. That didn't prevent him from shoving all in though and unfortunately for him, he was met with a snap call.

MacKinnon showed his {K-Spades}{K-Clubs} but was up against the only better starting hand available: {A-Diamonds}{A-Hearts}. The board didn't do him any good, by the time the dealer was getting the river out there he only had one out left, and didn't hit: {6-Hearts}{9-Hearts}{3-Spades} | {5-Hearts} | {Q-Hearts}.

Nguyen Triples In A 3-Way All In

Level 25 : 15,000/30,000, 5,000 ante

Tai Nguyen moved all in from under the gun with {8-Spades}{8-Hearts} for 170,000. Alex Barlow went all in from the small blind with {4-Hearts}{4-Spades} and that was followed by an all in from DJ MacKinnon from the big blind with {k-Diamonds}{k-Hearts}. The board came {8-Clubs}{5-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}{k-Clubs} giving Nguyen quads for a triple up. MacKinnon won the side pot, leaving Barlow extremely short.

Weiss Doubles Through Nguyen

Level 25 : 15,000/30,000, 5,000 ante

Hand #98: Under-the Roy Weiss shoved all in and Tai Nguyen followed his example from the small blind. Taylor Paur folded his big blind and we had a big clash. Weiss had 440,000 and {J-Hearts}{J-Spades}. Nguyen had Weiss covered but had to settle for {8-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}.

{7-Diamonds}{Q-Spades}{K-Spades} | {A-Diamonds} | {5-Hearts} on the table and Weiss doubled, leaving Nguyen behind with just 170,000 in chips.
