Big Turn Around For Hua, Self Hurting

Wes Self raised under the gun to 40,000, Can Kim Hua called from the button and Gavin Griffin called from the big blind. The flop came down {K-Clubs}{4-Hearts}{7-Diamonds} and both Griffin and Hua called Self's bet. The turn was the {6-Hearts} and Griffin checked again. Self bet 40,000, Hua raised to 80,000 and Griffin folded. Self put it 120,000 and Hua went all in for 122,000 total. Self made the call for just two extra yellow chips giving us an all-in showdown.

Self showed {A-Clubs}{2-Hearts}{3-Spades}{7-Hearts} and he was up against {A-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}{5-Spades}. One player called for a deuce and shortly after the {2-Spades} popped up. This gave Hua the nut low as well and since he had a straight for the high he took three quarters of the pot. Self was gutted and stared down at his diminished stack that's in dire need of a double up now.

A few hands later Hua continued his run and he started by raising under the gun to 40,000. It got folded to Tapscott to three-bet from the big blind to 60,000. After Hua called the flop brought out {K-Spades}{J-Clubs}{8-Diamonds} and Tapscott bet, Hua called. The turn was the {4-Clubs} and this time Hua called the 40,000 chip bet. On the river the {J-Spades} hit and Tapscott threw out another 40,000. Hua tanked for a bit and made it 80,000 which got Tapscott thinking. After a solid minute he released and Hua is now back up to 400,000 while Tapscott is still doing great with just under 500,000 chips.

Brian Lives

Brian Lives is sure living up to his name. He was crippled in a big pot versus Raymond Davis, but managed to chop the next three pots to stay alive, and then he doubled up.

Davis raised pre flop and emptied the clip on the {7-Spades}{9-Spades}{a-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}{10-Diamonds} board. Lives called him all the way down with {a-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{6-Clubs}{2-Spades} but lost out to Davis' {4-Hearts}{j-Spades}{2-Clubs}{a-Spades}.

Greg Mascio was the player who doubled Lived up. He three-bet called Davis' 66,000 stack with {a-}{2-Spades}{6-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}. Lives held {a-}{5-Diamonds}{7-Spades}{k-Clubs} and the board ran {q-Clubs}{2-Hearts}{10-Clubs}{k-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}.

Butler Having a Jolly Old Time

Ashly Butler
Ashly Butler

Ashly Butler had seven different tables yesterday, and he's on his third today. He doesn't mind his new table though as he just won a nice pot off Bryan Jolly.

Butler opened from early position and Jolly and Herbert Trapscott called from the blinds. The flop came {k-Hearts}{q-Spades}{8-Spades} and Jolly was the only caller to Bulter's c-bet.

The {7-Diamonds}{5-Hearts} turn and river saw Jolly check-call two more bets.

Butler tabled {k-Spades}{q-Spades}{a-Diamonds}{2-Spades} for top-two and the nut low. Jolly mucked.

Tyler Schwecke Eliminated in 13th Place ($11,957)

Tyler Schwecke
Tyler Schwecke

The first of two hands Tyler Schwecke just lost went as following. From the hijack Bryan Jolly raised to 30,000, there was no small blind since Joey Spanne just busted, and Schwecke three-bet to 45,000 from the big blind. Jolly called.

The flop came down {6-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds} and Schwecke bet 15,000, Jolly called. The turn was the {Q-Diamonds} and Schwecke was all in for his final 15,000 chips. Jolly called with {A-Spades}{4-Spades}{10-Hearts}{8-Diamonds} and Schwecke was in a perfect position to scoop the pot, he showed {A-Clubs}{A-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}{J-Hearts} for a pair of aces and ace-seven for the low. The river was the perfect card for Jolly because since the {7-Spades} hit he made a straight to the eight and the same low. Schwecke got quartered and was left with just 29,000 chips.

A few hands later Schwecke was in the big blind again and Can Kim Hua completed from the small blind. Schwecke moved all in for 14,000 more and Hua made the call. Hua tabled {K-Spades}{J-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}{5-Clubs} and Schwecke showed {K-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{Q-Clubs}{2-Hearts}. The board ran out {A-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}{7-Spades}{6-Clubs}{7-Clubs} and Hua rivered his flush to knock out Schwecke in 13th place.

Joey Spanne Eliminated in 14 Place ($11,957)

Joey Spanne out in 14th place
Joey Spanne out in 14th place

Joey Spanne had the chance of quadrupling up after his all-in on a {6-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}{j-Diamonds} flop got three callers in the shape of Bryan Jolly, Herbert Tapscott and Can Kim Hua.

The turn came {8-Hearts} and Hua built a side pot with a 30,000 bet. Both opponents called. The river was {k-Clubs} and Jolly moved out of the way as Hua and Tapscott got into a raising war and got four big bets in apiece.

Tapscott: {a-Spades}{10-Hearts}{q-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}
Hua: {a-Hearts}{8-Hearts}{10-Spades}{j-Spades}
Spanne: {3-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}{10-Clubs}{7-Clubs}

Both Tapscott and Hua had the nut straight to chop the pot and eliminate Spanne.

Davis Moved into Second Place

Raymond Davis is up to second on the leader board after scooping a big three-way pot against Ashly Butler and Greg Mascio.

There was betting all the way down the {q-Spades}{6-Hearts}{10-Clubs}{8-Clubs}{a-Diamonds} board until the river where all three checked.

Davis was in the small blind and opened {a-Clubs}{q-Clubs}{k-Hearts}{k-Clubs} for two-pair. He raked in the big pot after both opponents mucked.
