Geyer Takes the Lead

Adam Geyer raised to 12,000 from the button, and Anthony Gargano defended.

The flop brought them {5-Hearts} {9-Hearts} {8-Clubs}, and Gargano led out into the pot with 16,000. Geyer bumped it up to 43,000, but Gargano responded with an all-in shove with his covering stack. Geyer had 189,500 chips total, and he made the call for his tournament life. He was well in front with his {J-Spades} {J-Diamonds}, but Gargano and his {10-Diamonds} {J-Hearts} were drawing live for the knockout.

The turn {8-Hearts} was a blank, and the river {10-Clubs} wasn't enough to get Gargano over the hump. He's dropped a big chunk of his stack, giving up the chip lead in the process.
