Brenes Lets One Go; Then Nearly Triples Up

Humberto Brenes opened to 400 from middle position and found one caller from his opponent in the cutoff seat.

The flop came {7-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}{6-Spades} and both players checked.

The turn brought the {Q-Clubs} and Brenes checked once more - prompting a bet from his opponent.

"Do you bluff?" Brenes asked.

"I'm too old to bluff," his opponent replied.

"Okay," Brenes said. He then revealed the {A-Spades} and {10-Spades} one-by-one and mucked his hand.

His opponent mucked without showing.

"Good fold, sir," he said.

"No no, it was a bad fold," Brenes said with a smile.

Just a few hands later, we noticed Brenes was all-in preflop against two other opponents and hands were revealed.

Brenes: {Q-Spades}{Q-Hearts}
Opponent #1: {A-Diamonds}{Q-Diamonds}
Opponent #2: {4-Spades}{4-Clubs}

The player with {A-Diamonds}{Q-Diamonds} had everyone covered, while the player with pocket fours was the short stack. The board ran out {J-Hearts}{J-Spades}{9-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{5-Diamonds} and Brenes' queens held for the near triple-up.

Brenes is now up to 12,000.
