Steinberg Catches River

The player under the gun opened to 12,000 and Max Steinberg three-bet to 34,000 from the cutoff. Everyone else at the table shot their hands to the middle and action was back on the original raiser who called the bet.

The two saw a flop of {Q-Spades}{3-Hearts}{8-Diamonds} and both players checked to the turn. The dealer flipped up the {K-Clubs} on the turn and the original raiser checked for a second time. Steinberg moved 32,000 into the center of the table and his opponent called.

The river completed the board with the {6-Clubs} and they both checked once again.

"A pair is good," said Steinberg's opponent. Steinberg tabled the {6-Hearts}{5-Hearts} for a rivered pair of sixes and his opponent looked visibly perturbed.
