"There Goes my Chip Lead"

Just before the break, Paul Berende raised in middle position, and Joseph Kuether defended his big blind.

"I'm probably going to bet 3,000," Berende said, grinning.

The flop was {7-Diamonds}{j-Hearts}{9-Spades}, and Kuether led out. Berende laughed, then called.

The turn was the {2-Hearts}, and Kuether led out again.

"There goes my chip lead," Berende announced, making the call.

The river was the {4-Hearts}, and Kuether led out one last time. Berende called.

"Nine," Kuether announced, showing {k-}{9-}.

Berende's {10-Spades}{10-Diamonds} was best however, and he won the pot to stay in the lead.
