Gruissem Eliminated and Morgensztern Triples

Philipp Gruissem has been eliminated
Philipp Gruissem has been eliminated

We have an elimination and a double up to report.

Firstly, the elimination and we have lost the dangerous German player Philipp Gruissem. We joined the action on the turn with the board showing {A-Spades} {K-Spades} {5-Clubs} {6-Spades} and Gruissem had moved all-in for 37,000. His opponent, in the hand, was Bobby Moore and while he was in the tank Gruissem started talking to him. We are not sure if this pushed Moore to call, but he did, and Gruissem did not want a call.

"I have my favourite hand, but it's no good on that board," said Gruissem before tabling {9-Hearts} {6-Hearts}.

Moore turned over {K-Diamonds} {10-Diamonds} for second pair and after the {4-Hearts} came on the river he moved up to 200,000; Gruissem was out.

The triple up came courtesy of Vanessa Selbst and the benefactor was Gil Morgensztern. Selbst was holding {K-Spades} {3-Spades}, Morgensztern was holding {K-Hearts} {J-Spades} and a third player in the hand had folded under an isolation raise by Selbst. The board ran out {Q-Clubs} {9-Hearts} {2-Hearts} {7-Diamonds} {J-Diamonds}, Morgensztern moved up to 65,000 and Selbst now had 270,000.
