Sands Loses One

We arrived at the table to find David "Doc" Sands (in the hijack) call the player in the big blind's three-bet.

The flop came down {K-Spades}{3-Clubs}{2-Hearts} and both players checked to see the {Q-Spades} turn. A check from the player in the big blind was followed by a bet of 1,450 from Sands. His opponent called, landing the {7-Clubs} on the river. A third check from Sands' opponent led to Sands sliding about 15,000 into the pot, more than enough to cover his opponent.

After about 60 seconds in the tank, the player in the big blind called all in for 6,775.

"You win," said Sands. His opponent tabled {A-Diamonds}{Q-Diamonds}, besting Sands' holdings to win the pot.
