McCorkell Moves In

Antonio Esfandiari opened to 43,000 from under the gun. It folded to Craig McCorkell who moved all in for 354,000 from the small blind. Action went back to Esfandiari who thought for a while.

"Well...I don't have aces...or kings...or queens or jacks," said Esfandiari. McCorkell did not react to Esfandiari's table talk.

"What have you got?" continued Esfandiari. "Tell me what to do and I'll probably do it".

McCorkell still sat motionless, his eyes obscured by his sunglasses.

"No comment?" said Esfandiari who counted out enough chips to call and then kissed them. It looked as if he may call at this point but instead picked up his cards with his other hand and threw them away, causing the Brit rail to go nuts.

Lane Doubles Through Esfandiari

Jonathan Lane made it 50,000 from the hijack and Antonio Esfandiari called from the big blind.

The flop was {Q-Hearts}{K-Clubs}{J-Diamonds} and Esfandiari check-called a 65,000 bet. The {9-Spades} turned and Esfandiari opted to lead out for 84,000. Lane moved his whole stack in and Esfandiari called.

Esfandiari: {K-Hearts}{10-Hearts}
Lane: {A-Hearts}{10-Spades}

"Wow," muttered Esfandiari when he was that Lane had flopped the nuts.

The river was the {7-Diamonds} and Esfandiari was forced to push double up chips the way of Jonathan Lane.

Lane's Queens Are Good

Jeremiah Fitzpatrick opened to 40,000 from the cutoff and found a call from Jonathan Lane in the big blind. The flop was {8-Diamonds}{Q-Hearts}{K-Hearts} and Lane check-called a 50,000 bet.

Both players checked the {3-Hearts} turn and did the same on the {6-Diamonds} river. Lane tabled {Q-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds} and Fitzpatrick mucked his hand, awarding Lane the pot.

Jonathan Lane opened to 40,000 and Antonio Esfandiari re-raised to 102,000 from the big blind. Lane called and the flop came {4-Hearts} {7-Clubs} {6-Clubs}. Esfandiari bet 120,000 and Lane raised to 625,000 - enough to cover Esfandiari.

"What, a pair and a draw?" Esfandiari asked Lane. "Well ladies and gentlemen, it's been real nice playing you all." He then called and tabled {K-Clubs} {K-Diamonds}.

Lane tabled {8-Diamonds} {8-Clubs} and the board completed {A-Diamonds} {10-Spades} and Esfandiari went from saying his goodbyes to leaping into the chip lead.

Fitzpatrick Over a Million

Roberto Romanello raised to 35,000 and it folded around to Jeremiah Fitzpatrick who called from the big blind. The flop came {4-Hearts}{J-Spades}{10-Spades} and both players checked to the turn.

Fourth street was the {Q-Clubs} and Fitzpatrick checked once again. Romanello shot out 55,000 only to have Fitzpatrick make it 130,000 to go. Romanello carefully counted out a call.

The {3-Hearts} completed the board and Fitzpatrick asked how much Romanello had remaining.

Tournament director Robbie Thompson counted Romanello's stack at around 250,000ish and that led Fitzpatrick to moving all in. Romanello mucked his cards and Fitzpatrick was able to grab a pot that brought him over a million.

Spectators Removed

Level 3 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante

After several warnings about being loud and distracting during hands WSOP security escorted Sam Grafton and another Brit from the seats surrounding the stage.

The staff has allowed a lot of leeway but they seem to not want things to get out of control.
