Story Telling with Dennis Phillips

Most of the players in this field only come out for this very event, so to have a star like Dennis Phillips at their table is an exciting experience. Some of Phillips' tablemates asked about his back-to-back World Series of Poker Main Event runs in 2008 and 2009, and he happily obliged.

We overheard Phillips reminiscing about his brutal bustout hand during the 2009 Main Event. Phillips was knocked out in 45th place when his {A-Diamonds}{K-Diamonds} lost to {A-Spades}{K-Spades} after all the chips went in preflop. The story spurred some discussion from the many observers on hand for today's Seniors Event.

Phillips is up to 18,200 today and is one of the leaders in his section of the Amazon Room.
