All-In From Kaufman and a Nice Pot For Schmidt

Level 24 : 12,000/24,000, 4,000 ante

Andrew Badecker raised to 54,000 in the hijack and Ryan Schmidt made the call on the button. Michael Kaufman was seated in the big blind and he moved all-in and both players released their hands.

Abdyl Konjuhi raised to 60,000 in the hijack seat and Ryan Schmidt called in the cutoff. The flop was {4-Spades} {Q-Clubs} {5-Diamonds}, Konjuhi bet 80,000 and Schmidt made the call. The turn card was the {7-Diamonds}, Konjuhi fired his second barrel of 160,000 and Schmidt once again made the call. The final card was the {Q-Hearts} and Konjuhi checked. Schmidt didn't though - he came out with a 108,000 river bet. Konjuhi made the call and Schmidt showed him pocket acesseconds later Konjuhi's hand was slid unseen to the dealer.

The action then folded around Andrew Badecker in the small blind and he raised to 60,000. Abdyl Konjuhi was seated in the big blind and he decided he wanted to see a flop. The flop was {A-Diamonds} {J-Diamonds} {J-Hearts} and a 65,000 Badecker bet won the pot.

Selbst Takes One From Schmidt

Level 24 : 12,000/24,000, 4,000 ante

Ryan Schmidt raised to 52,000 in the cutoff and Vanessa Selbst made the call from the big blind. Our dealer gave us a flop of {10-Spades} {10-Diamonds} {8-Diamonds} and both players checked. Fourth street brought the {3-Diamonds} into play and Selbst brought out the check-raise for 194,000, after Schmidt had bet 43,000. Back to Schmidt and after a few seconds thought he folded his hand.

Vanessa Selbst raised to 43,000 in early position and Abdyl Konjuhi three-bet to 110,000 in the cutoff. The button and blinds folded and Selbst went into deep thought mode. After a few minutes she cleared her head and four-bet to 263,000. Back to Konjuhi who had his chin wedged in his hands and he folded his hand.

Andrew Badecker
Andrew Badecker

Andrew Badecker raised from the button and Ryan Schmidt defended the big blind. The flop was {K-Spades} {7-Spades} {3-Spades} and Schmidt check-called a 60,000 Badecker bet. On the turn there was yet another spade {6-Spades} and the same action ensued; this time for 142,00. The fifth and final card created a clean sweep of spades - {2-Spades} - and a 420,000 Badecker bet forced Smith off the pot.

JP Kelly Eliminated in 8th Place ($49,621)

JP Kelly
JP Kelly

Brent Hanks put JP Kelly all-in who was still very very short. Kelly called right away and we went to showdown once more.

Brent Hanks{A-Spades}{Q-Spades}
JP Kelly{J-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}

The board ran out {6-Clubs}{7-Spades}{3-Spades}{10-Spades}{7-Diamonds} and that was it for JP Kelly. No third bracelet for the Brit who still managed to pick up a very nice payday at the beginning of the WSOP. We are down to seven players.
