Goldkind Snags Lead From Burks

Adria Balaguer raised to 60,000 from early position. Chip leader Gary Burks called from the cutoff and Justin McGill called from the button. Cliff Goldkind, however, had other plans. He three-bet to 250,000 from the small blind, which prompted folds from the big blind and Balaguer. Burks called and McGill snap-folded, and we were off to the flop.

Flop: {10-Spades}{5-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}

Goldkind led out for 300,000, leaving around 600,000 behind. Burks lined up three stacks of green 25,000-denomination chips before releasing, and Goldkind began stacking his new found chips. He is our new chip leader.

Ismael Bojang Eliminated in 10th Place ($31,916)

Ismael Bojang -- 10th place
Ismael Bojang -- 10th place

Cliff Goldkind raised to 65,000 from under the gun and Ismael Bojang moved all in for 430,000 to his direct left. Action folded over to Gary Burks on the button, and Burks called for around half his stack. The blinds folded and Goldkind followed, leaving Bojang at risk of being the final table bubble boy.

Burks: {9-Spades}{9-Diamonds}
Bojang: {A-Spades}{Q-Spades}

The dealer fanned a flop of {Q-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}, giving Bojang the lead, but Burks picked up a flush draw. The {A-Hearts} turn changed nothing, but the {4-Diamonds} river gave Burks the winner. Bojang shook the hands of his former tablemates as he made his way out of the final table arena.

The nine remaining players are taking a short break. See you in 10!

Jason Wheeler Eliminated in 11th Place ($31,916)

Jason Wheeler - 11th place
Jason Wheeler - 11th place

Under the gun, Jason Wheeler open-shoved his last ~500,000 into the pot. Next door, Justin McGill reraised all in himself, and the table quickly folded out of their way. Wheeler was at risk, and he was in bad shape as McGill rolled over a premium.

Showdown
Wheeler: {A-Spades} {J-Diamonds}
McGill: {K-Spades} {K-Hearts}

The {8-Diamonds} {J-Hearts} {5-Diamonds} flop was a start for Wheeler, but he still had some work to do to catch up. The turn {6-Diamonds} gave him another set of outs as the diamonds were now live for him. The river card was red, but the {4-Hearts} was the wrong shade for Wheeler. Unable to overcome the hole he started in, his day has been cut short in 11th place.

Goldkind Rebounds With a Double

Well, it didn't take Cliff Goldkind long to get his chips back. Goldkind opened with a preflop raise and Adria Balaguer moved all in, having Goldkind covered. Goldkind called for around 400,000 total, and the cards went on their backs.

Balaguer: {10-Hearts}{8-Spades}
Goldkind: {A-Diamonds}{Q-Hearts}

Oops. Balaguer's light three-bet was picked off by Goldkind, but the Spaniard was still drawing live with his undercards. The {K-Spades}{Q-Diamonds}{7-Spades}{10-Clubs}{Q-Clubs} board gave Goldkind a bit of a sweat on the turn but he was able to secure the double with his trip queens. Balaguer, meanwhile, is among the short stacks after holding the chip lead less than an hour ago.

Shulman, Goldkind Swap Places

Barry Shulman raised to 60,000 under the gun, and the table folded all the way around to the big blind. There, Cliff Goldkind three-bet shoved, and Shulman quickly called all in for his last 499,000. He was well ahead.

Showdown
Shulman: {J-Hearts} {J-Spades}
Goldkind: {4-Hearts} {4-Clubs}

The board ran out {10-Spades} {2-Diamonds} {2-Spades} {Q-Spades} {A-Hearts}, and the jacks hold.

"That's my Barry!" his wife screamed from the rail. Her Barry is now up over the million-chip mark.
