Big Lead For Polk

Level 32 : 1,500/3,000, 0 ante

Douglas Polk and Ayaz Mahmood just got their chips all in pre flop for a massive 200,000 chip pot. Polk showed {8-Clubs}{8-Diamonds} and was in great shape against the {5-Spades}{5-Hearts} of Mahmood who won this event in 2010 banking $625,674. The board ran out {K-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{7-Spades}{8-Hearts}{10-Diamonds} giving Polk a big lead over Mahmood who had to cash in his final lammer.

Selbst Flops Straight and Doubles

Level 32 : 1,500/3,000, 0 ante

On the {Q-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{8-Spades} flop, Vanessa Selbst checked and Jeffery Kester bet 3,500. Selbst check-raised to 8,500 and Kester made the call.

On the {7-Diamonds} turn, Selbst led for 15,000 and Kester made the call.

The river was the {Q-Spades} and paired the board. Selbst bet all of her chips for 47,600. Kester tanked for a bit and then called.

Selbst turned over the {J-Clubs}{10-Clubs} for a flopped straight and won the pot to double up.

Selbst Sinks, but not Sunk

We don't know how the betting went, but when we got to the table Vanessa Selbst had her opponent, Jeffery Kester, all in. Kester flipped over {A-Clubs}{A-Diamonds} and Selbst countered with {A-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}. Selbst seemed slightly disgusted that her opponent's hand was so strong.

A {6-Diamonds}{9-Spades}{j-Diamonds} flop didn't bring anything special, but a {Q-Clubs} turn gave Selbst a handful of outs going to the river. Any king or ten would put Selbst's in front. The {6-Clubs} came on the river and Selbst was forced to forfeit the pot.
