Negreanu Taking Charge

Level 27 : 500/1,000, 0 ante
Daniel Negreanu
Daniel Negreanu

With a {8-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}{j-Hearts}{2-Spades} board exposed in the middle of the felt Daniel Negreanu check-called a bet from his opponent, Jonathan Jaffe who made it 8,200. A {9-Diamonds} on the turn brought another check from Negreanu, and a 12,000 bet from Jaffe. Negreanu quickly moved all in, and Jaffe collapsed in frustration. After a few moments Jaffe disappointingly threw his cards away.

Steven Landfish First Player to Reach The Money

After winning the third round players will be in the money and Steven Landfish just secured himself of a $10,966 pay day beating Peter Jetten. We caught the action on the turn with the board reading {2-Hearts}{9-Clubs}{7-Spades}{J-Clubs} and Landfish had 18,000 chips out in front of him. Jetten had two green 25,000 chips out in front of him indicating a check-raise and the action was on Landfish.

"I'm all in," Landfish said after some time and Jetten called right away. Landfish showed {10-Clubs}{7-Hearts} and was drawing slim against Jetten's {J-Diamonds}{J-Hearts}. "An eight?" Landfish asked the dealer who burned and dealt the {8-Clubs} on the river. Jetten jumped his chair and looked disgusted, he had just lost the match. Steven Landfish moves on to the next round and will play the winner of the match between Daniel Negreanu and Jonathan Jaffe.

Weisner Takes A Hit

Level 29 : 800/1,600, 0 ante

Tommy Vedes opened from the button and made it 3,100, it was then on Melanie Weisner who pushed forward 7,600. Vedes then three-bet to around 19,000 and Weisner moved all in and was called.

Weisner: {A-Clubs}{K-Hearts}
Vedes: {A-Spades}{Q-Diamonds}

With a {6-Hearts}{q-Spades}{10-Diamonds} flop being spread Vedes stole the lead with his pair of queens. A {6-Spades} on the turn changed nothing, and a {2-Clubs} river card caused Weisner to use her last lammer and add on.

Negreanu's Full House Goes Down

Level 29 : 800/1,600, 0 ante

Daniel Negreanu was just on the losing end of a full-house-over-full-house confrontation against Jonathan Jaffe that left him with 10,200 in chips from the 40,000 he started with.

We picked up the action on the {9-Clubs}{6-Spades}{5-Clubs} board as Jaffe bet 4,200. Negreanu called and the turn was the {K-Clubs}. Jaffe bet 10,000 and Negreanu called again. The river paired the board with the {K-Spades} and Jaffe moved all in for 57,200. Negreanu called.

Jaffe showed the {K-Diamonds}{9-Spades} for a full house, kings full of nines. Negreanu showed pocket sixes with the {6-Hearts}{6-Clubs} for sixes full of kings and lost the pot.

Baumstein Busts Ilyukhin

Scott Baumstein limped from the button only to find himself facing a bet of 7,200 from Victor Ilyukhin. Baumstein moved all in and was snap called by Ilyukhin.

Baumstein: {A-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}
Ilyukhin: {J-}{10-}

With a board reading {6-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{8-Diamonds}{A-Spades}{10-Spades} Ilyukhin was eliminated as his pair of tens weren't up to snuff to Baumstein's pair of aces.
