Demers Doubles Through Kaplan

Gionni Demers celebrates a double up with his rail.
Gionni Demers celebrates a double up with his rail.

From middle position, Gregory Kaplan raised to 320,000. Gionni Demers reraised all in for 2.05 million from the cutoff seat. Action got back to Kaplan and he began to tank. Eventually, after a few minutes in the tank, Kaplan made the call with the {K-Spades}{Q-Spades}. Demers held the {6-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}.

The flop came down {8-Spades}{7-Diamonds}{5-Hearts} and Demers sixes were still in the lead. He also added a straight draw on the flop.

The turn was the {A-Spades} and now Kaplan had additional outs with a flush draw. The river was the {A-Clubs} though and missed Kaplan, allowing Demers to double up. Kaplan was left with under 1.6 million and is now in the dangerous ten-big-blind territory.
