Just had a big pot LHE hand develop between Vladimir Shchemelev, Jason Lester, and Phil Hellmuth.
The trio each put four bets in prior to the flop coming . First to act, Hellmuth bet, Shchemelev called, then Lester raised from the button. Acting very hastily, Hellmuth made it three bets, Shchemelev folded, and Lester called.
The turn was the , Hellmuth rapidly checked, and when Lester checked behind Hellmuth pushed out a bet, momentarily confusing George Lind watching the hand who called out "whoa" when the dealer started to deal fifth street. Then it was clarified -- Hellmuth was betting the river in the dark. The river brought the , and Lester called Hellmuth's bet.
"Set of kings," said Hellmuth, showing . "You have a set of nines, huh?" he added. Lester wasn't saying. He took another look at his cards, then tossed them face down to the dealer.
Lester tumbles to about 620,000, while Hellmuth is up over 1.5 million now.
