Claudio Rinaldi Eliminated in 21st Place ($9,223)

Claudio Rinaldi
Claudio Rinaldi

PLH

Claudio Rinaldi, one of the short stacks coming into Day 3, got his chips in the middle preflop and was squaring off against Cameron New.

Rinaldi: {A-Hearts}{10-Hearts}
New: {A-Spades}{J-Spades}

It was a bad spot for Rinaldi as he shared an ace with his opponent, but with an inferior kicker. The {5-Clubs}{J-Clubs}{3-Spades} flop hit New and essentially sealed Rinaldi's fate. The {K-Diamonds} turn gave Rinaldi a gut-shot straight draw to a queen, but the {K-Spades} river was not it. Rinaldi was eliminated from the tournament in 21st place, worth a $9,223 payday.

Jens Hansen Eliminated in 22nd Place ($9,223)

Jens Hansen (22nd- $9,223)
Jens Hansen (22nd- $9,223)

PLH

Well, the first elimination of the day came just minutes into Level 19. It happened when Jens Hansen got his short-stack all in preflop holding {A-Hearts}{Q-Hearts} and was up against the {K-Diamonds}{K-Hearts} of [Removed:326]. Hansen was already standing when we made our way to the table, no doubt in reaction to the {4-Spades}{Q-Diamonds}{K-Clubs} flop.

[Removed:327] had flopped a set to put Hansen in a bad way. The {5-Spades} turn left Hansen drawing dead, but just as well the {9-Diamonds} was put out on the river for good measure. Hansen was eliminated in 22nd place and will take home $9,223 for his efforts.
