McLaughlin Doubles Through Whitfield

Marc McLaughlin made it 26,000 to go and action folded to Michael Whitfield who raised to 52,000. McLaughlin made the call and the flop came {3-Hearts}{K-Clubs}{2-Hearts}. McLaughlin checked and Whitfield fired out a bet of 200,000. McLaughlin pondered before raising to 400,000. Whitfield announced all in and McLaughlin quickly called.

Whitfield: {9-Spades}{9-Hearts}
McLaughlin: {A-Hearts}{J-Hearts}

With a flush draw and overs, McLaughlin got there when the {6-Hearts} turned. The {4-Clubs} hit the river and McLaughlin was able to scoop the pot, crippling Whitfield.

Just Before the Move...

Level 24 : 12,000/24,000, 4,000 ante

During the Philip Lowery elimination, Rodrigo Portaleoni opened to 53,000 on the adjacent table. Randy Haddox three-bet to 128,000, and Portaleoni answered with a four-bet to 368,000.

"One-point-three million," Haddox announced, moving all in.

Portaleoni tanked for nearly a minute before ultimately mucking his hand.

We are now at an unofficial final table, and we will bring you the seating draw in a moment.

Philip Lowery Eliminated in 11th Place ($38,445)

Philip Lowery - Eliminated in 11th Place
Philip Lowery - Eliminated in 11th Place

Kirk Caldwell opened to 75,000 from early position, Philip Lowery moved all in for 460,000, and the action folded back to Caldwell who sat back in his chair, placed his hands on his head, and announced call, flipping over two black eights.

Lowery tabled {a-Clubs}{j-Clubs}.

The flop came down {6-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}.

"Running clubs," Lowery asked the dealer.

The turn was indeed a club - the {3-Clubs} - and Lowery was one card away from actually going runner-runner. He could of course hit an ace or a jack as well.

The river was black, but the {9-Spades} wasn't enough, and Lowery was eliminated from the tournament.

Haddox Applying Pressure

Mark Mclaughlin made it 50,000 to go from under the gun and the action folded around to Randy Haddox in the small blind. Haddox three-bet to 140,000 and Mclaughlin made the call.

The flop fell {Q-Clubs}{9-Spades}{2-Spades} and Haddox continued out for 149,000. After about two minutes of thinking, Mclaughlin made the call.

The turn came {2-Diamonds}, pairing the board. Haddox fired out once again, this time for 249,000. After about another two minutes in the tank, Mclaughlin pushed his cards into the muck and Haddox was able to scoop the pot.

Vamo Brasilia

Rodrigo Portaleoni opened to 52,000 from late position, and the action folded to Kyle Cartwright who moved all in from the big blind for effectively 581,000. Portaleoni snapped it off.

Portaleoni: {a-Clubs}{10-Clubs}
Cartwright: {j-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}

"s! s! s!" Portaleoni's rail shouted.

The flop came down {5-Hearts}{k-Clubs}{q-Spades}.

"Jack!" Cartwright pleaded.

The turn was the {2-Hearts}.

"s!" Portaleoni shouted.

The river was indeed an s - the {a-Diamonds} - and although Portaleoni didn't need it, it improved his hand and he doubled to over a million chips.

The board ran {9-Clubs}{5-Spades}{8-Hearts}{q-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}, and Pishvafar was eliminated from the tournament.

"I looked down at {a-}{4-} and thought it was aces," Steven said after the hand. "Just about had a heart attack."
