"It Says Check"

We just witnessed a drama-filled hand between Jimmy Tran, Olivier Busquet, and another player.
The player in the hijack raised to 5,000 and Busquet re-raised to 20,000 from the small blind. Jimmy Tran called the 20,000 from the big blind but then the initial raiser pushed all in for 38,000. Olivier wasted no time in declaring himself all in as well, but his stack totaled 110,000 meaning Jimmy Tran would have to commit most of his stack if he wanted to make the call.
Tran went into the tank, mumbling and looking at the other players chip stacks. Tran asked Busquet "Why you not call? Why you all in?" to which Busquet replied (with a smile on his face), "I can't call and let you call too!"
Tran's chip protector is a spinning dial that has a number of poker-related actions on it. Tran, obviously confused about what he should do, spun the little spinner and the other players all leaned in to see what it would say.
"It says check" Tran stated, eliciting laughter from his tablemates and the dealer. He spun it one more time and the dial landed on "raise." Tran slapped his hand onto the table in frustration and then tossed his cards into the muck.

The ace-queen was good through the turn with the board reading 
but a devastating 
on the river gave Busquet a pair of fives and sent the player holding ace-queen to the rail.
After the hand Busquet's stack grew to 170,000. Jimmy Tran now has 140,000.
