Tall Woods

Scott Stanko raised, Richard Lyndaker put in three bets, and Darren Woods made it four from the big blind. Only Lyndaker called, and the flop fell {4-Diamonds}{3-Spades}{7-Clubs}. Woods led out, and Lyndaker called.

Lyndaker called another bet from Woods after the {k-Spades} turned, and Woods fired a third bullet after the river brought the {10-Spades}. Lyndaker tank-called, Woods opened two red jacks, and they were good.

Nguyen Flops Trips, Chips Up

Kim Nguyen completed from the small blind, Scott Stanko checked his option in the big, and the flop came down {10-Clubs}{q-Hearts}{10-Hearts}. Nguyen led, Stanko raised, and Nguyen called.

Both players checked the {5-Clubs} on the turn, and after the {9-Clubs} fell on the river, Nguyen led out. Stanko called, and Nguyen instantly opened {j-Diamonds}{10-Spades} for trip tens. They were good, and she raked in the pot.

"I'm so bad at this game," she told her rail with a grin. "How do I not three-bet the flop?"

Matt Schreiber Eliminated in 11th Place ($11,291)

Matt Schreiber
Matt Schreiber

We caught the action in this hand on the river with a board reading {8-Clubs}{J-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}{9-Clubs}. Matt Schreiber had bet only to be raised by Andrey Zaichenko. Schreiber, who didn't have much back, eventually made the call with {A-Spades}{J-Clubs}. Zaichenko rolled over {A-Spades}{J-Clubs} for a straight and the winning hand.

"Are you serious?!?" Schreiber vented. "F***ing gut shot!" Obviously he was not too happy, especially since he was left with just 9,000; meanwhile, Zaichenko chipped up to 400,000.

On the very next hand, Zaichenko opened under the gun and Schreiber committed his remaining chips. Samuel Golbuff then reraised from the button and Zaichenko made the call. When the flop came down {5-Spades}{5-Clubs}{10-Spades}, Golbuff bet, Zaichenko raised, and Golbuff called.

It then went check-bet-raise-call on the {8-Diamonds} turn, which was followed by the {5-Diamonds} on the river. A bet and call ensured as Golbuff showed {J-Hearts}{J-Clubs}, which bested Zaichenko's {10-}(X) and Schreiber's {A-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}. As a result, the latter player was eliminated from the tournament in 11th place for $11,291.

Matt Matros Eliminated in 12th Place ($11,291)

Level 20 : 4,000/8,000, 0 ante
Matt Matros (12th Place- $11,291)
Matt Matros (12th Place- $11,291)

Matt Matros and Gabriel Nassif were heads up with the board reading {k-Hearts}{a-Clubs}{4-Hearts}. Matros check-called a bet, and the dealer delivered the {j-Clubs} on the turn. Matros check-called another bet, and the river was a third heart; the {7-Hearts}. Matros check-called one more bet, Nassif rolled over {q-Hearts}{10-Hearts} for a flush, and Matros mucked.

The 2010 bracelet winner was down to his las 4,000 chips, just enough for him to pay his small blind the next hand. Matt Schreiber raised from under the gun, the action folded around, and the hands were opened up.

Showdown:
Matros: {a-Hearts}{4-Spades}
Schreiber: {k-Diamonds}{j-Spades}

Matros was ahead, but not for long. The board ran {k-Spades}{5-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}{j-Hearts}{7-Hearts}, eliminating him from the tournament in 12th place.

With Matros' exit, we are guaranteed to have a first-time bracelet winner in Event #19.

Nguyen Continues to Roll

Kim Nguyen raised preflop only to have Richard Lyndaker reraise. Nguyen made the call and then checked the {4-Clubs}{2-Hearts}{9-Hearts} flop. Lyndaker bet, Nguyen check-raised, and Lyndaker made the call. From there, it went bet-call on the {2-Diamonds} turn and {A-Spades} river, prompting Nguyen to roll over {A-Diamonds}{9-Clubs} for two pair. Lyndaker mucked.

Gaultieri Dwindling

Scott Stanko raised under the gun and received calls from Joe Gualtieri on the button and Darren Woods in the small blind. Woods checked the {K-Hearts}{9-Spades}{J-Clubs} flop, allowing Stanko to continuation bet. Gualtieri then three-bet, Woods folded, and Stanko made the call.

After the dealer had burned and turned the {7-Spades}, Stanko bet, Gualtieri called, and the {9-Diamonds} was put out on the river. Again Stanko bet and Gualtieri made the call. Stanko showed {Q-Spades}{10-Clubs} for a flopped straight as Gualtieri shook his head and revealed {A-Clubs}{K-Diamonds}.

The previous hand left Gualtieri with just 14,500, but he was able to double on the very next hand after getting all in preflop against Stanko. Gualtieri held {A-Hearts}{4-Hearts} against his opponent's {2-Clubs}{2-Hearts} and had the board run out a kind {3-Hearts}{A-Diamonds}{Q-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{A-Spades}. Although he doubled, Gualtieri is still our short stack.
