Filippi Makes the Call with a Pair

After the first draw, Bill Chen checked and Amnon Filippi fired. Chen made the call. Both players then drew one card each. Chen checked and Filippi checked behind. On the final draw, both players again took one apiece. Chen fired and Filippi thought for a second before making the call.

Chen had made a straight and in 2-7 Lowball, straights are bad. He had the {6-}{5-}{4-}{3-}{2-}. Filippi made a solid call with the {8-}{7-}{6-}{3-}{3-}, having a pair in his hand. Filippi improved to 15,000 chips while Chen dropped to 8,000.
