Deeb's Superior Kicker

Freddy Deeb
Freddy Deeb

Masa Kagawa raised from early position to 2,400 before Freddy Deeb reraised from the next seat to 8,000. Kagawa made the call and they were off to a flop together.

The flop came down {9-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}{7-Clubs} and Kagawa check-called a bet of 11,000 from Deeb. The turn added the {K-Spades} to the board and both players checked. The river was the {5-Hearts} and Kagawa fired 25,000. Deeb called.

Kagawa held the {K-Clubs}{Q-Clubs}, but lost to Deeb's {A-Hearts}{K-Hearts}. Deeb's superior kicker allowed him to take down the pot and move up to 175,000 in chips.
