Schulman Doubles Again

Stud-8

Nick Schulman had the bring in with the {4-Diamonds}, and Carlos Mortensen completed, Schulman raised to 80,000. Mortensen flatted rather than raising, letting Nick keep a few pink chips until the next street. Schulman bet all in on fourth, and Mortensen called to see Schulman that was pretty strong for a short stack.

Schulman: {9-Diamonds}{4-Hearts} / {4-Diamonds}{a-Diamonds}
Mortensen: {8-Clubs}{5-Spades} / {7-Hearts}{8-Clubs}

On fifth, Mortensen picked up the {j-Diamonds} and made a pair with the {8-Diamonds} on sixth. It didn't matter though, because Schulman caught diamonds on fifth and sixth (the {7-Diamonds} and the {6-Diamonds}) to give him an unbeatable flush. Nick doubled up to 300,000 and is looking just slightly less miserable.

Schulman Squeezes For Survival

Stud-8

Ian Gordon was the bring in and Nick Schulman completed. Matt Glantz and Marco Johnson made the call.

On fourth, Johnson led out with a bet and Schulman called all in for his last 30,000. Glantz made the call and a side pot was formed.

Both live players checked fifth, before Johnson fired a bet when he paired his ace on sixth. Glantz gave it up.

Schulman: ({5-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}) / {6-Spades}{Q-Hearts}{J-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}
Glantz: (X-X) / {5-Diamonds}{K-Hearts}{A-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}
Johnson: ({J-Spades}{J-Hearts}) / {A-Clubs}{10-Hearts}{4-Hearts}{A-Hearts}

Johnson revealed the {a-Spades} on the river to make a full house to lock up the high and leave Schulman to squeeze a low card to survive. He found it when he flipped over the {8-Spades} for an eight low to collect half and stay alive!

Gordon Floats a Boat

Stud-8

Ian Gordon: (X-X) / {8-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}{k-Spades} / (X)
Richard Ashby: (X-X) / {3-Spades}{3-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}{q-Hearts} / (X)

Ashby brought it in, then called after Gordon completed. Both players checked on fourth, and Ian began the action on fifth with a bet. Ashby called all the way to showdown, where Gordon turned up {10-Clubs}{5-Hearts}{10-Spades} for fives full of tens. Neither player had a low, so Gordon raked in the whole pot.

Katchalov and Johnson Chop It

Stud-8

Eugene Katchalov completed and Marco Johnson made the call. Johnson paired up on fourth and led out with a bet and Katchalov called. On fifth, Johnson fired again but Katchalov raised it up. Johnson called before check-calling on sixth. Both players checked the river.

Katchalov: ({2-Spades}{8-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}) / {A-Spades}{3-Clubs}{6-Spades}{3-Hearts}
Johnson: ({K-Diamonds}{K-Spades}{5-Hearts}) / {Q-Hearts}{Q-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}

An eight-low for Katchalov is good for half as Johnson showed kings and queens for the high. Chop it up!

Quick Pause

Time for a level jump and two minutes to finish changing out the T1,000 orange chips for higher denominations.

It may be a little longer now, since short-stack Nick Schulman requested a bathroom break.

Glantz Approaches Two Million

Stud

Nick Schulman: (X-) / {10-Diamonds}{5-Spades}{q-Diamonds}{3-Hearts} / (X)
Matt Glantz: (X-X) / {a-Hearts}{k-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}{7-Hearts} / (X)

Marco Johnson completed with the {q-Clubs}, and Nick Schulman raised. Matt Glantz made it three bets total, and Johnson folded. Schulman came along and called bets on fourth and fifth. On sixth, Glantz kept up the betting, and Nick finally gave in and folded. Glantz stacked a nice pot and moved up to the 2 million mark. Schulman is the shortest now with 190,000.

More For Marco

Razz

Gordon: (X-X) / {4-}{5-}{Q-}{Q-} / (X)
Johnson: (X-X) / {10-}{7-}{A-}{5-} / (X)

Ian Gordon completed before firing again on fourth street. Marco Johnson caught better on fifth and took control with bets on fifth, sixth and seventh streets. Gordon's board paired up but he called until the river where he gave it up.
