Jameson Painter Eliminated in 4th Place ($140,760)

Jameson Painter - 4th place
Jameson Painter - 4th place

Matt Keikoan raised preflop, Jameson Painter three-bet it, and Keikoan called.

The flop came out {10-Clubs} {3-Hearts} {A-Clubs}, and Keikoan check-raised Painter's follow-up bet. The ensuing raises ended up putting Painter all in for 190,000 total, and he was in bad shape as he'd soon find out:

Painter: {A-Diamonds} {7-Clubs}
Keikoan: {3-Diamonds} {3-Spades}

The turn was a blank {6-Spades}, and Painter began the handshakes and well wishes. The river {8-Hearts} filled out his final board of the night, sending him to the exit in 4th place. He'll take home more than $140,000 for his work this week, but he and his 'pumpkin patch' of fans are headed out the door earlier than they'd have preferred.

Painter Drops Two in a Row

On a {3-Hearts}{8-Spades}{4-Spades} flop, Jameson Painter led out and Kyle Ray called. Both players checked the {5-Hearts} on the turn. The river was the {10-Spades} and Painter check-folded to Ray's bet.

On the next hand, Painter raised, Dan Idema three-bet and Painter called. They went heads-up to a {7-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}{2-Clubs} flop and Idema led out. Painter called. Idema led again when the {3-Clubs} fell on the turn and Painter called. The river was the {8-Clubs} and Painter folded to Idema's bet.

After those two hands, Painter was down to 250,000 and the pumpkin patch was rather quiet.

Ray Stayin' Alive

Kyle Ray raised, Daniel Idema reraised, Ray four-bet, and Idema called.

That put them heads up into a dangerous pot as the flop came out {7-Spades} {A-Spades} {7-Clubs}. Idema checked, and Ray bet. That put Idema to a tough decision, as Ray only had about two bets left in his stack. After maybe 90 seconds of deliberation, Idema decided it was a go; he raised, and Ray got the rest of his chips into the pot. And he was well ahead:

Ray: {A-Clubs} {J-Diamonds}
Idema: {K-Hearts} {9-Hearts}

The {6-Hearts} turn and {8-Diamonds} river were pretty much formalities at that point, and Ray has found a double up to 770,000.

Ray Back on the Short Stack

Kyle Ray opened for a raise, Dan Idema reraised and Ray called.

In a flurry of betting on the {Q-Spades}{8-Spades}{7-Clubs} flop, Ray checked, Idema bet, Ray raised, Idema reraised and Ray called. Ray check-called Idema's bet when the {K-Diamonds} hit the turn. The river was the {J-Hearts} and Ray checked again. Idema bet and Ray sat up on his knees, hovering over the table with his hands covering his face. After a few moments, he let go of his hand and Idema took down the pot.

Ray is down to 400,000 in chips.

Idema Does Some Carving

Jameson Painter raised preflop, and Daniel Idema defended his big blind.

On the {7-Spades} {10-Clubs} {5-Clubs} flop, Idema check-raised to two bets, and Painter came along with the call. Painter called one more big bet on the {8-Hearts} turn, but he folded to the last one when the {5-Spades} did not help his hand.

Painter is now on the short stack with 610,000.

Sad Pumpkin

Jameson Painter opened for a raise, Dan Idema reraised and Painter called.

Idema led out on the {10-Hearts}{6-Spades}{3-Diamonds} flop and Painter called. Idema bet out again on the {6-Hearts} turn and Painter called. Same story when the {Q-Clubs} hit the river.

Idema showed ace-queen for queens and sixes and took it down, much to the chagrin of the "pumpkin patch."
