Painter's Pumpkins

Jameson Painter
Jameson Painter

Jameson Painter must be partial to orange shirts, as his five-strong cheering section has arrived in the audience, all decked out in orange. They are also carrying a sign that reads "I Heart Pumpkin" and one young man has brought along one of those hollow plastic pumpkins that kids use to trick-or-treat, hoising it aloft whenever their man takes down the pot.

Here at PokerNews, we applaud creativity in railbirding. Nice job, gents.

Idema Inching Up

Dan Idema opened for a raise and Kyle Ray defended his big blind.

Ray checked the {5-Spades}{4-Diamonds}{3-Spades} flop over to Idema, who bet. Ray called and they went to the turn, which fell the {J-Clubs}. Ray check-called again. The river was the {K-Hearts} and Ray check-called one more bet.

Idema showed {K-Diamonds}{Q-Hearts} for the win and took down the pot.

Hold'em is a Split-Pot Game

Matt Keikoan raised in early position, and Michael Mizrachi defended his big blind go heads up to a flop.

It came down {J-Hearts} {7-Clubs} {7-Hearts}, and Mizrachi check-called a small bet. The {7-Spades} turn drew checks from both players, and Mizrachi led out with a bet on the {K-Clubs} turn. Keikoan called, turning over {A-Hearts} {K-Spades} for sevens full of kings. Mizrachi flipped up his {K-Hearts} {10-Diamonds}, and the two men take their money back with the same five-card hand.

David Chiu Eliminated in 9th Place ($39,760)

David Chiu
David Chiu

Matt Keikoan raised to open the pot, and David Chiu three-bet for most of his chips. Keikoan went ahead and set him all in, and the cards were on their backs:

Keikoan: {K-Spades} {K-Diamonds}
Chiu: {6-Spades} {6-Diamonds}

The flop was not exactly what Chiu was looking for as it came out {K-Hearts} {9-Diamonds} {J-Clubs} to leave him drawing dead to running cards. The {8-Hearts} on the turn ended any hopes for a rally, and the {3-Clubs} river is the last card Chiu will see today.

He has been knocked off in 9th place, taking home nearly $40,000 for his work over the last three days.

Ray showed {Q-Clubs}{Q-Spades} for top set and took it down.
