Hellmuth Dodges Bullets!
Ted Lawson raised to 5,000 from under the gun with the cutoff player and Phil Hellmuth in the big blind making the call.
They saw a flop of and Hellmuth checked to Lawson who fired 15,000. The cutoff player folded as Hellmuth made the call.
The turn was the and Hellmuth checked again to Lawson who announced he was all in. Hellmuth removed his glasses and asked for a count. It was around 75,000 to Hellmuth and he went into the tank.
"Go ahead and fold!" chirped Lawson.
"You got aces?" quizzed Hellmuth.
"I got two eights!" replied Lawson, which drew a few chuckles from the table.
Eventually Lawson called the clock, much to the surprise of the table who had seen Lawson tank for a long time earlier in the day.
The floor gave Hellmuth 30 seconds to act and he decided to fold his pocket queens face up to the shock of the fans on the rail.
It was a tremendous fold as Lawson flashed pocket aces!
"YES BABY! I can dodge bullets! That's what I do! That's what I do baby! I can't play any better!" yelled an excited Hellmuth as he stood and walked around the nearby tables.
