Ahmadness

It's been a bit of a roller coaster for Ahmad Abghari since our final went four-handed.

He raised under the gun and called a reraise from Terrence Chan on the button to see a {2-Hearts}{k-Hearts}{q-Diamonds} flop. Abghari bet out and then called a raise from Chan. Abghari check-called on the {7-Spades} turn and again on the {10-Diamonds} river, but promptly mucked when Chan turned over {K-Diamonds}{K-Spades}, leaving himself on 160,000. (By the by, Chan had won a fairly big pot off of Georgios Kapalas just before this with pocket jacks - this pot put Chan firmly back in the lead on a dominating 1.25 million.)

The next hand, it folded around to Matt Matros in the small blind who raised. Abghari called in the big blind and they saw a flop.

Flop: {7-Clubs}{8-Clubs}{3-Spades}

Matros bet out and Abghari raised; Matros called and they saw a turn.

Turn: {6-Hearts}

Matros now merely check-called the bet from Abghari, so they saw a river.

River: {10-Diamonds}

Matros bet out, and Abghari called all in. To showdown.

Matros: {a-Spades}{5-Spades} for ace high
Abghari: {6-Clubs}{9-Spades} for a straight

Abghari doubled to around 300,000. He took another chunk out of Matros the next hand as well, when his pocket jacks presumably held up on the {4-Hearts}{4-Spades}{4-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}{k-Spades} board, as Matros mucked.

Abghari is right now sitting on around 430,000.
