Double Double Ups

The action is as fast as Benny Hill on forward wind at the moment as we witness simultaneous double-ups. On the far table, it was Frank Kassela whose stack increased two-fold, the short stack seeking revenge on Georgios Kapalas who had left him short after an earlier encounter.

After a couple of raises (Kassela lighting the first match under the gun), Kassela found himself all in preflop with {A-Diamonds}{4-Hearts} and in need of divine assistance versus {A-Spades}{K-Diamonds}. But the Poker Gods were watching intently, and after a harmless {Q-Diamonds}{J-Hearts}{2-Clubs} flop (at which point Kassela rose from his seat), they duly popped a {4-Spades} on the turn followed by a {J-Spades} river.

"Nice to get lucky," beamed Kassela as Kapalas shook his head in frustration. He's now back up to around the 75,000 mark.

Meanwhile, on the other table, Terrence Chan doubled Mark Burford up to 100,000, {Q-}{8-} no good against {4-}{4-} on an action-packed {Q-}{8-}{4-} flop.

If it continues like this, we could be done by dinner!
