The Cavalry is Here

Pieter de Korver
Pieter de Korver
Good lord, the rail has got that little bit louder since EPT Grand Final winner Pieter de Korver turned up with a couple of scantily clad lovelies and started singing at the rail. They're very excitable, these Dutch folk.

Ian Flushing Chips Down the Johns

Ian Johns is down to a mere 50,000 after losing two hands in a row, both times his chips heading into the mammoth stack of Marc Naalden.

First up, he folded to a check-raise from Naalden on the turn of an {A-Diamonds} {3-Clubs} {K-Clubs} {2-Hearts} board; down to 195,000.

Then he was most unfortunate to smack his {A-Hearts} {6-Clubs} into the mighty, er, {3-Hearts} {6-Hearts} of Naalden -- Naalden spiked a three, and Johns was nearing the felt.

Tommy Hang Eliminated in 4th Place ($54,182)

Just Hangin' out
Just Hangin' out
Marc Naalden raised his cutoff and Tommy Hang reraised from the button; call.

Naalden check-called Hang's bet on the {3-Spades} {K-Spades} {3-Diamonds} {3-Diamonds} flop and then bet out on the {5-Diamonds} turn. Hang went all in for his last 70,000, Naalden called, and Tommy was all Hanged out to dry.

Hang: {A-Spades} {5-Hearts}
Naalden: {10-Clubs} {10-Diamonds}

River: {8-Spades}

To good-natured but frankly rather ungentlemanly celebration from the sizable Dutch rail, Hang is bust, and the Needle King is up to over 2 million.

Lucky Sevens for Naalden

Steven Cowley raised his button and Marc Naalden called from the big blind. Both players checked the {6-Diamonds} {2-Hearts} {9-Clubs} flop, and Naalden bet out on the {8-Hearts} turn and again on the {8-Clubs} river; both times Cowley called.

Cowley just mucked, however, when Naalden turned over pocket {7-Spades} {7-Hearts}.

Hang Down

Tommy Hang is down to 190,000 and Ian Johns is up to 240,000 after Hang was forced to fold to a bet from Johns on the river of the {9-Clubs} {Q-Spades} {2-Hearts} {2-Spades} {10-Spades} board.

Cowley's Coming Back

And now, as though he's suddenly decided to give someone else a chance, Marc Naalden has boosted Steven Cowley's stack to 625,000.

Naalden raised his button and both Tommy Hang in the small blind and Steven Cowley in the big blind called.

The {7-Hearts} {2-Hearts} {7-Clubs} flop checked around to Naalden who bet; Hang folded but Cowley raised. Call.

Cowley bet out on the {4-Spades} turn and Naalden raised -- and after a while, Cowley three-bet. Naalden called, and then called again when Cowley bet out on the {Q-Hearts} river.

Cowley turned over {7-Spades} {5-Spades} to take the pot; Naalden flashed the {2-Clubs}.

Hang Up

A bit of a recovery for Tommy Hang.

He called Marc Naalden's small blind raise from the big blind, and Naalden check-called Hang's bets all the way down the {4-Clubs} {3-Hearts} {7-Clubs} {7-Hearts} {Q-Hearts} board before mucking when Hang turned over {6-Hearts} {7-Diamonds}.

Hang up to 335,000.

Hanging On for Dear Life

Marc Naalden raised his small blind and Tommy Hang called from the big. Naalden bet out on the {J-Spades} {7-Spades} {8-Diamonds} flop and then reraised to Hang's raise. Hang called all in, and promptly doubled up.

Hang: {J-Diamonds} {9-Diamonds}
Naalden: {A-Spades} {7-Clubs}

Turn: {8-Spades}
River: {Q-Hearts}
