Vaughn's Small Pair Takes Down a Big Pot

On a flop of {9-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{4-Diamonds} Chris Vaughn checked to his opponent, who bet 1,700. Vaughn raised to 4,500 and his opponent quickly reraised for all of his chips, about 15,000. Vaughn took off his headphones and studied the board. "You don't have a set, do you?" he asked. "Jacks?" His opponent did not respond.

After a few more minutes of thought, Vaughn made the call and tabled {3-Spades}{3-Hearts}. His opponent showed {Q-Hearts}{10-Hearts} for a two-overcard flush draw. He did not improve and Vaughn scooped the pot.

Several hands later, Vaughn knocked a different player out when his aces held against that player's kings. He currently has approximately 40,000 chips.
