Berry Johnston Gone

Berry Johnston
Berry Johnston
Stud-8:

Former world champion Berry Johnston is out, his tournament life on the line in seven-card stud-8, with Daniel Mowczan and John Racener fighting it out for the side pot.

Mowczan = {K-Spades}{2-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{8-Hearts}
Johnston = {Q-Diamonds}{J-Spades}{2-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}
Racener = {4-Hearts}{8-Clubs}{K-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}

After Racener had called a bet on the penultimate street, he bet 6,000 on the end only to be duly called by Mowczan.

Mowczan nearly fell back in his chair as Racener revealed {3-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}{3-Clubs} in the hole, the youngster taking the pot with his trip threes.

Meanwhile, Mowczan and Johnston mucked, the latter leaving the table in 30th place.
