The Ups and Downs of John Bird

John Bird just lost a big hand that saw a good portion of his chips go to Scott Freeman. We caught up the hand on the river. With about 700,000 in the pot and the board reading {9-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}{J-Spades}{J-Diamonds}, Scott Freeman checked. John Bird bet 600,000 and Freeman called. Freeman showed {A-Spades}{9-Spades} which beat the {7-Clubs}{6-Clubs} of Bird. This pot catapulted Freeman to 1,600,000 in chips and left Bird with a modest 100,000.

Bird doubled through Issac Haxton on the next hand, when his {A-Clubs}{2-Hearts} bested Haxton's {K-Hearts}{6-Clubs}. Bird is still well below average however with just under 200,000 in chips.
