Hand #148 - David Baker Doubles Through David Mosca

Hand #148 - David Baker has the button in seat 2, Mosca raises to 20,000, Vaswani calls, Baker raises from the button to 30,000, Mosca calls, and Vaswani calls. The flop comes {A-Hearts}{10-Clubs}{2-Clubs}, Mosca checks, Vaswani checks, Baker bets 10,000, Mosca raises to 20,000, Vaswani folds, Baker raises to 25,000, and Mosca calls with {J-Spades}{10-Spades} for a pair of tens. Baker shows {K-Hearts}{K-Diamonds} for a pair of kings, and he's looking to double up here.

The turn card is the {J-Clubs}, and Mosca pairs his kicker to take the lead, but Baker has 12 outs. The river card is the {K-Clubs}, and Baker wins the pot with a set of kings to double up to about 155,000 in chips.

Hand #139 - David Baker Doubles Through Ram Vaswani

Hand #139 - Ram Vaswani has the button in seat 8, he raises to 20,000, and Baker calls from the big blind. The flop comes {8-Hearts}{7-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}, and Baker is quickly all in with {6-Clubs}{5-Clubs} -- a pair of fives and an open-ended straight draw. Vaswani shows {A-Spades}{7-Diamonds} for a pair of sevens, and Baker needs to improve to stay alive.

The turn card is the {8-Hearts}, and the river card is -- the {9-Hearts}. Baker rivers a nine-high straight to win the pot and double up to about 80,000 in chips.

Greg "FBT" Mueller on the Mic

Greg "FBT" Mueller spent some time before the break announcing the action from behind the rail, so people who weren't as tall as him (or as smart, in his words) would understand what was going on. The tournament director has given him a microphone, and now Mueller is announcing the action to the crowd, which has grown in size.

Mueller is giving the players humorous nicknames, calling them by their online names, and giving general color commentary about the crowd. This is going to be a very late final table, and Mueller is definitely livening up the proceedings as we are just past midnight.

Hand #126 - How David Baker Dropped So Low

How did David Baker have just 15,000 at the break? It was the last hand before the break that crushed him --

Hand #126 - David Baker has the button in seat 2, Mosca raises to 16,000, Vaswani calls, Baker raises from the button to 24,000, Mosca calls, and Vaswani calls. The flop comes {9-Spades}{6-Spades}{5-Clubs}, Mosca checks, Vaswani checks, Baker bets 8,000, Mosca calls, Vaswani raises to 16,000, Baker calls, and Mosca folds. The turn card is the {2-Hearts}, Vaswani bets 16,000, and Baker calls. The river card is the {4-Spades}, Vaswani bets 16,000, and Baker calls. That left Baker with 12,000 in chips. When the yellow (1,000) chips were raced off, he won the race, gaining an extra orange (5,000) chip. His friend Greg "FBT" Mueller has been sweating from the rail, and announced to the crowd that Baker managed to double up during the break.
