A "super monster" pot has just taken place here in the Amazon Room at our final table. The three players involved were John Robertson, Steve Sung and Greg Raymer. Robertson, short-stacked to begin the hand, called for a "rebuy on table 61," realizing he'd be committing all of his chips to the pot. Raymer, showing , check-raised Steve Sung, whose upcards were . Raymer held a pair of queens in the hole, and was ahead on every street but the last. His hand improved further when the fell into his lap, giving him a set, but Sung picked up a fourth diamond on the turn. Greg bet the river, wary of the flush, but optimistic that his three queens were good. Sung made the call, revealing a flush, which would eliminate John Robertson in seventh place and leave Raymer with 15,000.
Sung now has 350,000 chips and is creeping up on Michael Keiner.
For his seventh-place finish, John Robertson earned $15,097. He left the table with a friendly farewell: "Gentleman, have fun."
