Two running fives spelled the end to Marku Shpend's run at a bracelet, when Matt Grapenthien hit a third five on the river, besting Shpend's trip fours. Shpend finished in 33rd place.
Seconds before Shpend busted out, John Argentin was eliminated in 34th place. Both players will receive $3,612.
Barry Greenstein took down a big pot against Bill Byers with a pair of kings against Byers' fours. Barry is now at 83,000, while Byers has dropped to 5,500.
Holding three aces, Bill Chen was a heavy favorite with one card to come against Sanjay Pandya's gut-shot straight draw. Unfortunately for Chen, Sanjay spiked the seven he needed to fill his straight, and Chen graciously wished everyone luck, and exited the tournament area.
With just a pair of aces in the hole, Larry Eubanks bet 3000 on the river and his opponent mucked his cards. Eubanks has quietly built his stack up to 50,000 chips.
