Only 1,100 of the returning players were set to get paid, and they were in the money before the first break of Day 2. Gavin Cochrane bubbled the money just after the start of Level 4, and action didn't slow down. At the first break, there were just 821 players left in action.
Dzmitry Urbanovich, Mikita Badziakouski, and Mike Leah all made stabs at big stacks after the first break, but none would find a way to the end game. Leah, the Canadian mixed-game specialist, made it the deepest, but ultimately fizzled out in 87th place for $4,875.
There were fewer than 100 players left at the third break of the day. Second place finisher "TooStonedMonkey" started to build a stack in this phase, sitting in second place as they moved below 50 left. They went on a tear, taking the chip lead for the final three tables.
