Marko Pantelic, Dan Turner Bag Big in Day 1A of Thunder Valley WSOP Circuit Main Event
The day is over and 35 players have booked their ticket to Day 2 of the WSOP Thunder Valley Circuit main event. Marko Pantelic bagged the chip lead with 475,000 after a late surge where he overtook Dan Turner to bag the top stack. Turner, who has previously finished second in this event, was the big stack for much of the evening — peaking around 530,000.
He knocked out the High Roller winner JC Tran shortly after registration closed and between him and Pantelic they are bagging almost 1-million chips. The next closest players are Marcus Laffen and WSOP bracelet winner Scott Bohlman. They both bagged 249,000.
Meanwhile, Sam Cosby, Chad Holloway, Lexy Gavin, Tyler Patterson, and WSOP main event final tablist from 2017 Bryan Piccioli all fired and failed to bag. It is expected they will return tomorrow to take another shot in a field that will likely top 300 players.
The second of two starting flights will start tomorrow at noon and all players who make Day 2 will return Sunday at noon. The entire event will be updated right here on PokerNews.com.
