Wood Cut Down; Garcia Follows Him Out the Door

Level 8 : 400/800, 100 ante

After Jason Koon opened for 1,800 from the hijack, IP Biloxi Casino Champ Cory Wood moved all in for 19,000 from the cutoff. Ashly Butler then moved all in over the top for 41,500 on the button, both blinds folded and Koon shot back in his chair.

"Holy moly," Koon said, "we've got the {A-Hearts}{K-Hearts}." Koon, who had 48,000 or so behind, decided to save his chips and folded. "Watch me flush out," he said upon discovering that Butler held the same hand with the {A-Spades}{K-Diamonds}, which was well out in front of Wood's {A-Clubs}{10-Clubs}. Sure enough, the board ran out {4-Spades}{q-Hearts}{6-Clubs}{5-Hearts}{3-Hearts} and Koon would have won a massive pot had he played.

For more on Wood, who hails from Murfreesboro, Tennessee, check out the interview he did with PokerNews after he won the IP Biloxi Casino Championship.

Meanwhile, Bicycle Casino Main Event Champion Baptiste Chavaillaz and at-large qualifier Cord Garcia have both been eliminated. The latter fell to Ari Engel and said of his chips, "At least they went to a good spot."
