Kuether Cut Down
We reported earlier that Joseph Kuether was off to a good start to defend his title, but we just saw him lose a big pot to the same opponent he was heads up with before. The board read , and there was already 6,600 in the pot when we arrived. The small blind led for 4,200, and Kuether made the call from the button.
The river came the , completing a back door flush, and his opponent thought for about 20 seconds before moving the rest of his chips in. It was a bet of more then 11,000, and it represented most of Kuether's stack. Kuether spent about 90 seconds in the tank before eventually giving his hand up.
Kuether is still plenty healthy, but he is down to 14,000.
