Raymer Follows Phillips Out the Door

Level 18 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante
Greg Raymer
Greg Raymer

Not long after the Elimination of Dennis Phillips, the WSOP-Circuit Harrah's St. Louis lost another big name in 2004 WSOP Main event Champion Greg Raymer. It began when Raymer and an opponent got all of the money in on a board containing {K-Clubs}{10-Clubs}{X-Clubs}{J-}{X}. Raymer held {A-Clubs}{Q-} for a broadway straight, but couldn't overcome the {Q-Clubs}{8-Clubs} flush of his opponent. That hand crippled Raymer.

Not long after, Raymer got his remaining chips in with {10-}{8-} against the pocket kings of Mark Koeln. The board did not deliver the help Raymer needed and he was eliminated from the Main Event. Meanwhile, Koeln is up to 175,000.
