Roviso Rebuilds

Robert Mitchell raised to 20,000 in early position, and he was called by Scott Clarke and Joseph Roppolo, both with position on him. In the blinds, though, Anthony Roviso squeezed out his hole cards and then squeezed the rest of his 86,000 chips into the pot. Mitchell considered for a while before re-shoving all in for about 155,000 additional chips. Back on Clark now, it looked like he was debating a tough decision. He had 126,000 chips left in front of him, fighting with a decision for his tournament life. He eventually, and reluctantly folded, and Roppolo also ducked out to let the other two duke it out.

"You got a pair?" Mitchell asked.

"No," came the reply. "I know I'm probably dominated." Indeed Roviso was, but probably not in the way he imagined. He turned up {A-Spades} {4-Spades}, and he would soon see he was in bad shape against Mitchell's {4-Clubs} {4-Hearts}.

Salvation would come from the dealer, though, as an ace on the flop left Mitchell shaking his head slowly back and forth. In the end, the {A-Diamonds} {7-Hearts} {3-Clubs} {Q-Diamonds} {K-Spades} board punched Roviso's double-up ticket. He's back in contention with more than 250,000 now after nearly tripling up.
