Preflop, Matt Stout raised to 40,000 and was called by Leonard Eidson. Eidson checked dark as the flop hit . Stout bet out 55,000 and was called by Eidson
The turn fell the and Eidson instantly moved all in for 215,000. Stout went into the tank and after about a minute asked, "Will you show if I fold?" Eidson replied, "You got to pay to see."
After another minute, Stout folded his hand and Eidson showed for two pair.
David Dao opened the pot with an early position raise to 30,000. Matt Stout made the call from the small blind, as did Leonard Eidson from the big.
Three handed, the flop came out . The blinds checked, and Dao continued out with a bet of 100,000. Stout called, while Eidson opted to duck out.
Heads up now, the turn came . This time, both men checked.
The last card off was the . Stout took the lead now, grabbing 135,000 chips and stacking them out in the center of the table. Dao quickly called.
Stout turned over his rather confidently, but Dao was having none of it. He took his time stacking out the call before opening up his winning set of sevens with . After taking down that pot, he has worked his way up to 940,000, hot on the heels of Matt Stout now!
Preflop, David Dao moved all in and Jeremy Byrum snap-called.
Byrum:
Dao:
Dao started calling for a seven and got his wish when the flop hit . Byrum would need running diamonds or a ten to win. The turn fell the and this left Byrum with three outs. Dao called for another seven and got his wish when the hit the river.
After the pot, Dao doubled up to around 600,000. Byrum slipped to 400,000.
Preflop, Leonard Eidson raised to 31,000 and was called by Kai Landry. David Dao moved all in for the third time in a row. Eidson made the call and Landry gets out of the way after tanking a bit.
Board:
After the flop and turn, Jimmy Sommerfeld announced that "Dao will double up unless an eight comes."
When the river fell Sommerfeld announced, "And the river is an...eight. I mean nine."
Jeremy Byrum limped into the pot under the gun, and Matt Stout, Kai Landry, and David Dao also came along to the flop.
With four-handed action then, the flop came out . Surprisingly, all four players checked.
The turn brought the , and it would prove to be quite the action card. Landry and Dao checked, allowing Byrum to bet 30,000. Next to act, Matt Stout put in a raise to 80,000. Landry ducked out quickly, but Dao was not so easily deterred. He announced, "All in," putting the pressure on. Not to be outdone, Jeremy Byrum announced that he too was all in for 317,000, being the shortest of the three stacks. Stout sat in disbelief for a moment before folding his , allowing the other two men to duke it out.
Showdown:
Dao:
Byrum:
With his tournament life on the line, Byrum had to fade just one more card to double up and then some. To his delight, the blank hit the river, earning him that much-needed increase. He has climbed over the 700,000-chip mark after that pot, knocking Dao down to just about 120,000 in the process.
David Dao has taken several pots by shoving. The most recent saw Dao limp in preflop and Matt Stout raise to 80,000. Dao then reraised all in. Stout was forced to lay the hand down.
Stout had just moved all in in the previous hand and showed pocket jacks. Unlike yesterday and on Day 1, Dao is not showing down the types of "gambling hands" that he did. It seems that players are waiting for a stronger hand before they test him.
